Role Purpose
As an Operational Sourcing Manager at Chain IQ, you will lead a team of sourcing professionals while overseeing efficient, commercially robust operational sourcing activities that support our clients’ purchasing needs. You will manage quick‑turnaround sourcing events, competitive negotiations, supplier interactions, and process governance, while also developing and coaching team members to build capabilities, uplift performance, and enable consistent service delivery.
This role is suited to an experienced procurement leader who thrives in a dynamic, high‑velocity environment that leverages digital tools and AI‑enabled solutions. You will collaborate closely with category managers, senior sourcing leads, and cross‑functional client stakeholders across industries. Key Responsibilities:
People Leadership and Team Development

Lead, coach, and manage a team of sourcers and sourcing specialists to deliver high‑quality, timely sourcing outcomes.

Provide guidance, mentoring, and day‑to‑day oversight to ensure team members develop technical sourcing and stakeholder‑management capabilities.

Foster a collaborative, performance‑driven team culture aligned with Chain IQ’s values and operating standards.

Conduct regular performance reviews, support career development discussions, and ensure resource allocation across sourcing tasks is well managed.
Sourcing and Negotiation Leadership

Lead fast, efficient operational sourcing activities, ensuring competitive outcomes and strong commercial value for clients.

Develop and implement negotiation strategies for low‑value, high‑velocity purchasing requirements.

Ensure accurate documentation, clean data, and high‑quality supplier communication throughout all sourcing processes managed by you and your team.
Supplier and Stakeholder Management

Engage suppliers to clarify requirements, validate proposals, and optimise sourcing outcomes.

Provide advisory guidance to client stakeholders on procurement processes, preferred suppliers, compliance, and best practices.

Escalate risks proactively and ensure robust communication across client and internal teams.
Operational Excellence

Drive improvements in sourcing workflows, cycle times, and process control.

Promote the adoption of digital procurement tools, automation, and AI‑enabled solutions across the team.

Collaborative Delivery and Capability Building

Requirements:
Experience and Background

Several years of experience in procurement, operational sourcing, purchasing, or supplier management.

Prior experience leading a team or managing direct reports in a procurement environment is strongly preferred.

Demonstrated ability to manage end‑to‑end sourcing activities in a structured procurement or shared‑services setting.
