Role Purpose

The purpose of this role is to lead strategic sourcing initiatives across Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, MRO, and related Corporate Services categories, delivering sustainable value and commercial optimization for clients. The role serves as a trusted advisor to senior business stakeholders, translating business objectives into innovative sourcing, supplier, and contracting strategies. The position is responsible for driving competitive sourcing events, negotiating complex commercial agreements, and managing supplier relationships to maximize cost savings, mitigate risk, and improve service outcomes. In addition, the role promotes procurement excellence through strong governance, market intelligence, cross-functional collaboration, and continuous improvement of sourcing practices.

Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic sourcing initiatives across Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, MRO, Workplace Services, and related Corporate Services categories.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to understand operational requirements and develop sourcing strategies that align with business objectives and deliver measurable value.
  • Manage end-to-end competitive sourcing events (RFI, RFP, RFQ, e-auctions), including supplier engagement, evaluation, negotiation, and award recommendations.
  • Develop and execute commercial negotiation strategies that optimize cost, service quality, supplier performance, and risk management outcomes.
  • Draft, negotiate, and finalize Statements of Work (SOWs), Master Service Agreements (MSAs), and other commercial contracts in collaboration with Legal and Risk teams.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers while monitoring market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry innovations to support category strategies.
  • Identify and deliver cost savings, process improvements, and value creation opportunities through benchmarking, spend analysis, and commercial optimization techniques.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, regulatory requirements, and established sourcing best practices.
  • Provide sourcing leadership, project reporting, and stakeholder communications while supporting cross-functional collaboration and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related discipline.
  • 4+ years of strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or commercial management experience, with a strong focus on Real Estate and Corporate Services categories.
  • Demonstrated experience sourcing and negotiating Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, Workplace Services, MRO, or related service agreements.
  • Proven ability to lead complex sourcing events, including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, and contract negotiations.
  • Strong commercial acumen with experience developing negotiation strategies that deliver cost savings, risk mitigation, and operational value.
  • Experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, Statements of Work (SOWs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and supplier performance terms.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret spend data, conduct market assessments, develop business cases, and generate actionable insights.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with the ability to effectively engage senior business leaders and cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency with procurement systems, Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel and PowerPoint), and supplier management tools; professional certifications such as CPSM, CIPS, or equivalent are preferred.

 

What We Offer

We offer a comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on your performance and recognized for the value you bring to the business. The salary range for the Chicago Metro Area is $120,000 to $170,000, plus individuals may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. Individual salaries within those ranges are determined through a wide variety of factors including but not limited to education, experience, qualifications, skills, location and applicable employment laws.
