Role Purpose
Responsibilities
Category Strategy & Stakeholder Management
- Act as the subject matter expert for one or more IT procurement sub-categories, including Hardware, Software, SaaS, Network, Telecom, and Colocation services.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across business functions and geographies.
- Build and maintain stakeholder engagement plans and category-specific communication strategies.
- Identify business needs and translate them into sourcing and procurement strategies that support organizational objectives.
- Ensure effective supplier relationship management for strategic and preferred suppliers.
Sourcing & Procurement Delivery
- Lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives, including market analysis, supplier selection, negotiations, contracting, and implementation.
- Conduct spend, contract, and market analyses to identify savings opportunities, efficiencies, and sourcing risks.
- Develop and implement category strategies and sourcing roadmaps aligned with regional and global business requirements.
- Deliver measurable cost savings and value creation through effective sourcing practices.
- Ensure compliance with procurement policies, governance standards, and ethical sourcing principles.
Commercial & Supplier Management
- Lead commercial negotiations with suppliers to secure optimal contractual, financial, and operational outcomes.
- Manage relationships with major IT vendors and service providers, including global technology partners and specialized providers.
- Support contract reviews and negotiations to ensure commercial robustness and risk mitigation.
- Monitor supplier performance and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Project & Tender Management
- Manage multiple sourcing projects simultaneously while ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.
- Design and execute sourcing events, including RFI, RFP, RFQ, and competitive tender processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate supplier proposals and support decision-making.
- Track, measure, and report sourcing outcomes and savings achievements.
Relationship Management
- Proactively foster effective collaboration and ensure strong communication with key client stakeholders and colleagues in and across the region(s) to deliver defined business goals.
- Develop key client stakeholder matrix per category/location, maintaining regular engagement and driving high levels of client engagement and satisfaction.
- Ensure appropriate supplier relationship management for assigned suppliers.
- Act as key contact person for IT category with expertise on one of sub-categories (HW, SW, SaaS, Network, Telecom, Co-lo) and sourcing initiatives.
Sourcing Planning
- Perform spend and contract analysis to identify sourcing and cost reduction opportunities.
- Ability to formulate category specific cost / license / service models such as. for appropriate business needs.
- Working with clients and colleagues, define and implement IT strategies and sourcing area plans for global and regional strategies.
Management of Sourcing Initiatives
- Lead and execute IT (HW, SW, SaaS, Network, Telecom, Co-lo) sourcing projects from end-to-end in line with agreed timelines and service quality.
- Deliver allocated savings target as assigned to categories and locations though the effective management of sourcing initiatives, with proper tracking and reporting of savings achievements.
- Adhere to defined sourcing policies and processes.
- Ensure a high-level of ethics in supplier and / or client engagements.
Requirements
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Law, Information Technology, or a related field. Relevant professional experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
- 5+ years of sourcing, procurement, or category management experience, preferably within IT procurement.
- Strong knowledge of one or more IT procurement categories, including Hardware, Software, SaaS, Cloud, Datacenter, Network, Telecom, and Managed Services.
- Solid understanding of software licensing models, subscription-based services, cloud consumption models, and IT service agreements.
- Demonstrated experience leading complex negotiations and managing commercial contracts with technology suppliers.
- Experience working with major global IT vendors such as IBM, Oracle, Microsoft, SAP, Cisco, Wipro, AWS, Google Cloud, or similar providers.
- Proven project management skills with the ability to manage multiple sourcing initiatives concurrently.
- Hands-on experience conducting RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes and evaluating supplier proposals.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional and international teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Professional sourcing or procurement certifications (e.g., CIPS, CPSM, CSCP, PMP) are advantageous.
- Excellent written and spoken English; additional languages are a plus.
