Role Purpose
The purpose of this role is to serve as a senior subject matter expert and strategic advisor for Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, and Workplace Services sourcing, driving enterprise-wide procurement strategies that support business growth and operational excellence. This role leads complex, high-value sourcing initiatives and commercial negotiations, leveraging deep market expertise to optimize cost, mitigate risk, and maximize supplier performance. The position partners closely with executive stakeholders to shape category strategies, influence key business decisions, and deliver innovative, data-driven solutions across the real estate portfolio. Additionally, the role champions procurement best practices, mentors sourcing professionals, and drives continuous improvement through supplier innovation, market intelligence, and strategic relationship management.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the lead subject matter expert for Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, Workplace Services, and related corporate services categories, providing strategic guidance to senior business and procurement stakeholders.
- Develop and execute global and regional category strategies that align with enterprise objectives, optimize total cost of ownership, and support long-term business growth.
- Lead highly complex, high-value sourcing initiatives, including supplier selection, commercial negotiations, contract structuring, and executive-level deal recommendation activities.
- Partner with senior leadership, Real Estate, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Operations teams to influence business decisions and embed sourcing best practices into real estate planning and investment strategies.
- Conduct market intelligence, supplier benchmarking, and industry analysis to identify emerging trends, innovation opportunities, and competitive advantages across the real estate supply base.
- Negotiate complex commercial agreements, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), lease-related services, facilities management contracts, and construction-related engagements.
- Drive supplier relationship and performance management programs for strategic suppliers, ensuring service excellence, innovation, risk mitigation, and continuous value creation.
- Identify, quantify, and deliver sustainable cost reduction, supplier consolidation, process improvement, and operational efficiency opportunities while maintaining quality and business continuity.
- Provide thought leadership and mentorship to sourcing professionals, supporting capability development, procurement transformation initiatives, governance compliance, and continuous improvement efforts across the sourcing organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, Real Estate, Finance, Engineering, Data Analytics or a related field; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
- 6+ years of progressive strategic sourcing, category management, procurement, or commercial leadership experience, including significant expertise in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Construction, Workplace Services, and related categories.
- Recognized subject matter expertise in developing and executing complex category strategies for large, multinational organizations with substantial real estate portfolios and operational footprints.
- Demonstrated success leading high-value, complex commercial negotiations involving facilities management, property services, construction, capital projects, workplace services, and enterprise supplier agreements.
- Deep knowledge of real estate and facilities industry market dynamics, supplier landscapes, pricing models, service delivery structures, and commercial best practices.
- Proven ability to influence senior executives and cross-functional stakeholders, providing strategic sourcing guidance that supports business transformation, operational excellence, and financial objectives.
- Extensive experience drafting, negotiating, and managing complex contracts, including Master Service Agreements (MSAs), Statements of Work (SOWs), service-level agreements (SLAs), and supplier governance frameworks.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with demonstrated experience in total cost of ownership analysis, business case development, supplier benchmarking, spend analytics, and value-creation initiatives.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with a proven ability to mentor sourcing professionals, lead cross-functional teams, and drive procurement best practices across the organization.
