SENIOR MARKET DATA ANALYST

Location: London
Job Type: Contract – 3 months
Experience Level: Senior (8+ years)

Job Overview:

We are seeking a Senior Market Data Analyst to standardize and harmonize financial data from multiple regional sources, analyze market trends, and provide data-driven insights.

The role involves defining data usage profiles for different banking roles, evaluating datasets for benchmarking, and conducting financial analytics.

Data Normalization & Harmonization:

• Standardize and structure data received from different regions and formats into a unified format.
• Ensure consistency and accuracy in financial datasets.

Market Data Analytics & Insights:

• Analyze data and other financial sources to identify trends and patterns.
• Provide insights and recommendations based on current market data trends

Bloomberg Profiling & Job Role Analysis:

• Develop Bloomberg usage profiles for various sell side and buy side roles.
• Identify essential Bloomberg functionalities for each role.

Benchmarking:

• Leverage deep knowledge of fixed income markets to provide meaningful analysis.
• Conduct benchmarking across multiple datasets to identify industry standards and best practices.

• Review agreements and extract relevant information for benchmarking and recommendation

Additional Data Review & Analytics:

• Evaluate alternative data sources for enhanced financial insights.
• Apply data analytics techniques to improve reporting and decision-making

Business and Market Data Services Assessment

• Carry out business interviews to understand requirements, workflow needs and match it to the relevant MDS product
• Conduct a review of an MDS function and provide a maturity assessment with recommendations

Key Requirements:

• 8+ years of experience in banking and market data
• Strong understanding of financial markets and investment banking operations.
• Experience with data harmonization, standardization, and financial analytics.
• Ability to interpret and analyze large financial datasets.
• Proficiency in data visualization and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, SQL, Python, or R is a plus).
