About the role

We are looking for a Sourcing Logistics Expert to lead and own the end-to-end sourcing and lifecycle management of airport ground service equipment used in aircraft servicing operations.

This role focuses on high loaders, trucks, trailers, and related special-purpose vehicles, covering the full lifecycle: sourcing, commercial structuring, fleet strategy, maintenance concepts, and cost optimization.

We are open to candidates from sourcing, logistics procurement, fleet management, or commercial/sales roles within OEMs or service providers — provided you bring strong commercial judgment, independent ownership, and a lifecycle mindset.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead regional sourcing initiatives for airport ground equipment (high loaders, trucks, trailers, fleet solutions).
  • Own and drive the development and execution of transport and warehouse sourcing strategies, with strong emphasis on:
    • Road transport (linehaul, local distribution, airport transfers)
    • Air freight and courier services
    • Time-critical and airport-constrained logistics solutions
    • Warehousing (frozen, chilled, ambient)
  • Drive spend analysis, identify cost drivers, and deliver measurable savings and optimization outcomes.
  • Lead sourcing events end-to-end (RFI, RFP, negotiations, eAuctions where applicable).
  • Own strategic supplier relationships across OEMs, dealers, leasing companies, and service providers.
  • Act as the primary commercial interface between internal stakeholders (operations, engineering, safety, finance) and external partners.
  • Define and implement fleet strategies, including lifecycle, maintenance concepts, and total cost of ownership optimization.
  • Ensure full compliance with local regulations, airport standards, and safety requirements.
  • Influence decision-making through data-driven insights and strong stakeholder engagement.


Requirements

  • University degree (Bachelor’s or Master’s) or equivalent professional experience.
  • Minimum 6+ years of experience in:
    • Strategic sourcing or category management
    • Logistics sourcing, fleet sourcing, or heavy equipment categories
  • Proven track record of leading sourcing events and negotiations independently
  • Experience in managing or sourcing vehicle fleets or logistics assets
  • Strong exposure to road transport and time-critical logistics; air freight is a plus
  • Experience in aviation, food logistics, FMCG, or similarly complex operational environments is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical capability with the ability to translate insights into commercial actions
  • Fluent in English
