Main responsibilities will include:

 

  • Manage a sourcing team, complete all required performance reviews, be a positive role model and help in the people training and development of the team  
  • Directly manage IT Sourcing engagements of varying spend, risk, and complexity levels on the IT Sourcing (Americas) Team, managing engagements in one or more of the following categories: Software Licensing/Maintenance, Software as a Service, other Hosted Platforms/Services, Networks, Data Center, Hardware, Desktop, and related IT Outsourcing and Managed IT Services; 
  • Develop and preset cost saving and optimization opportunities to prospective new clients.
  • Communicate regularly with key business stakeholders to understand strategic direction, business requirements, objectives, and priorities across assigned categories and business functions; 
  • Understand the business requirements of each deal, and shape deals and contracts to meet those requirements; 
  • Assess savings opportunities on all engagements, and work with clients to achieve optimal cost reductions/savings and other “value”, as appropriate; 
  • Develop and maintain key IT Supplier relationships in the above-named IT Sourcing categories, and stay current on their products, services, and competitors; 
  • Manage competitive bids and RFXs for IT engagements using automated tools or limited to Microsoft Office apps (depending on the client engagement), and lead the evaluation and selection process across a cross-functional team of stakeholders; 
  • Draft contracts based on clients’ standard templates, and customize deal-specific commercial terms/conditions, as needed; 
  • Follow required processes and procedures related to supplier engagement, contract negotiation and contract execution to ensure compliance with clients’ legal, regulatory, business, and regional policies; 
  • Provide detailed project status (and associated savings) reporting on all active and completed Sourcing deals, using required Chain IQ and client tools/platforms; 
  • Partner with Chain IQ colleagues globally to ensure cross-functional coordination of engagements, supplier management, process implementation, and best practices; 

 

 

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Supply Chain concentration and/or MBA would be a plus); 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in IT Sourcing roles in one or more of the following categories: Software Licensing/Maintenance, Software as a Service, other Hosted Platforms/Services, Networks, Data Center, Hardware, Desktop, and related IT Outsourcing and Managed IT Services; 
  • People management experience with ability to lead a team of sourcing and procurement team members of varying experience levels, motivating each to bring their best in addressing client business needs and growing as professionals. 
  • Demonstrated sourcing and negotiation experience with major IT Suppliers; 
  • Ability to perform contract drafting and negotiations with limited additional legal support for Master Software License, Maintenance Agreements, Supply/Task Orders/SOWs; Amendments; Service Level Agreements; etc.; 
  • Ability to structure contracts with multiple concurrent Schedules, Annexes, Supply Orders, and Attachments across multiple global regions; 
  • Demonstrated experience in identifying savings and cost reduction opportunities in IT contract negotiations, and developing and leading negotiation strategies to achieve those savings and other value; 
  • Ability to manage engagement risk through identification and assessment of relevant hypothetical issues that could impact each engagement, and addressing such scenarios and relevant risk sharing in the contract; 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, and ability to effectively communicate with and influence senior clients/stakeholders; 
  • Ability to quickly understand and apply new concepts (e.g., business models; governance models; scaling of platform from local to regional to global; supplier pricing models; contracting options and alternatives; sourcing tools and platforms; sourcing processes, policies, and procedures);
