We are seeking a passionate, analytically driven Strategic Sourcing and/or Industry Expert to enhance our procurement processes in the category of Trucks & Trailers Sourcing / Fleet Maintenance and Repair. This role is perfect for seasoned professionals who have an in-depth understanding of the Trucks & Trailers Sourcing / Fleet Maintenance and Repair industry from a Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) and supply chain perspective. About the role:

We are looking for a business strong and technically sound Strategic Sourcing Senior Consultant to lead sourcing and category management across trucks, trailers, fleet leasing, maintenance, repair and spare parts. The role converts operational fleet requirements into scalable sourcing strategies, balancing global standardization with country-specific specifications and regulatory needs.

You will own category strategy, strategic sourcing including eAuctions, total cost of ownership modelling and strategic supplier relationships. You will work closely with key stakeholders to improve cost, uptime, compliance, transparency and sustainability outcomes.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute regional and global category strategies for trucks, trailers, vehicle repairs, maintenance, spare parts and fleet-related services.
  • Lead end-to-end sourcing events, including market analysis, RFIs, RFQs/RFPs, bid evaluation, eAuctions, negotiations, contracting and savings validation.
  • Build supplier strategies and panels across OEMs, trailer manufacturers, leasing and finance providers, dealer networks, independent workshops, parts distributors and specialist upfitters.
  • Design and apply TCO-based sourcing models covering purchase or lease price, financing, maintenance, tyres, uptime, fuel or electricity consumption, residual value, exit flexibility and lifecycle risk.
  • Partner with operations and fleet management to translate service requirements into comparable technical specifications and controlled local addenda.
  • Identify and execute demand bundling opportunities across countries, business units, vehicle types, maintenance and spare parts.
  • Create structured maintenance and repair sourcing models, including fixed-price service packages, national account agreements, parts price books, SLAs, uptime KPIs and supplier scorecards.
  • Support own-versus-lease decisions, finance-rate tenders, maintenance unbundling, residual-value protections, replacement-cycle optimization and remarketing strategies.
  • Embed sustainability into fleet sourcing through EV/BEV readiness, charging-infrastructure considerations, bridge-fuel options, emissions requirements and supplier data transparency.
  • Lead supplier performance reviews, contract compliance, risk mitigation and continuous improvement activities within category governance forums.
  • Provide clear commercial analysis, recommendations and decision materials for category boards and steering committees.

 

Requirements:

  • University degree in supply chain, procurement, engineering, business, finance or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 3 - 5+ years of relevant experience in strategic sourcing, category management, fleet procurement, automotive or commercial vehicle sourcing, leasing, maintenance services, or a related commercial role.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex tenders and negotiations with OEMs, lessors, service providers or other asset-intensive suppliers.
  • Practical experience with fleet TCO, technical specification management, lifecycle cost analysis or maintenance commercial models.
  • Experience working across countries and business units in a matrix organization.
  • Advanced analytical skills and strong proficiency with sourcing, spend-analysis and presentation tools.
  • Fluent English, German, additional languages relevant to the regional scope are an advantage.
  • Willingness to travel for supplier, stakeholder and operational-site engagement as required.
