Role Purpose 

The primary purpose is to deliver value-add sourcing services to clients in a structured, professional and consistent manner. 

 The Training Specialist ensures that new and existing sourcers are continuously equipped with uptodate knowledge, skills, and best practices related to our tactical sourcing tools. As our sourcing ecosystem evolves with regular tool updates, system enhancements, and the deployment of new digital solutions, a dedicated trainer is essential to maintain operational effectiveness, tool adoption, and compliance across regions. 

 

Responsibilities 

We are currently seeking a consultant to join the Sourcing Excellence Team. The Training Specialist needs to be a dynamic, highly client-focused individual with proven experience within training delivery and execution  

 

Main responsibilities will include: 

  • Develop, maintain, and deliver training programs (live sessions, webinars, elearning modules) for tactical sourcing tools and related processes. 

  • Train new hires in Sourcing to ensure consistent and standardized tool knowledge from day one. 

  • Conduct refresher trainings for existing sourcers aligned with tool updates or identified process gaps. 

  • Collaborate with tool owners and project teams to understand upcoming enhancements and translate them into clear, user-friendly training content. 

  • Create and update user guides, quick reference materials, FAQs, and video tutorials. 

  • Monitor training effectiveness through assessments, feedback loops, and performance analytics to ensure continuous improvement. 

  • Provide on-demand support when sourcers encounter system questions, usability issues, or workflow challenges. 

  • Participate in pilot testing and UAT for new tool releases to anticipate training needs and adjust content. 

  • Ensure global process consistency by aligning training with standardized sourcing policies  

 

Requirements 

Technical Knowledge 

  • Strong understanding of tactical & operational sourcing processes (RFQ/RFP, e-sourcing, supplier selection, negotiation basics, PR/PO processes). 
  • Hands-on experience with sourcing and procurement tools (e-sourcing platforms, Supplier Management tools, ERP systems like SAP/Oracle, contract management tools, workflow solutions). 
  • Ability to understand and explain endtoend procurement workflows. 

Training & Facilitation Skills 

  • Experience designing and delivering training for corporate audiences. 
  • Strong presentation and facilitation skills — able to engage participants and simplify complex concepts. 
  • Ability to tailor content to different user groups (beginners, advanced users, regional differences). 
  • Experience with adult learning principles and instructional design methods (ADDIE or similar). 

Documentation & Communication 

  • Excellent written communication skills for creating user guides, process documentation, and SOPs. 
  • Ability to prepare clear, concise, and visually effective training materials. 
  • Strong stakeholder communication and ability to collaborate with tool owners and process leads. 

Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills 

  • Ability to identify user pain points and turn them into training improvements. 
  • Comfortable analyzing training metrics and competency results to recommend enhancements. 
  • Structured approach to troubleshooting user issues related to sourcing tools/processes. 

 

Experience Requirements 

  • 3–5 years in procurement, sourcing, or procurement operations. 
  • Experience in a training, enablement, or operational excellence role preferred. 
  • Experience with digital procurement tools (Ariba, Jaggaer, Ivalua, or similar). 
  • Experience in multicultural/global corporate environments is a plus. 
  • Customercentric mindset — passionate about improving user capability and tool adoption. 
  • Patience and empathy when dealing with learners of different skill levels. 
  • Continuous improvement orientation — constantly refining materials and approaches. 
  • Strong ownership of training outcomes and follow-through. 
  • Adaptability — able to adjust delivery style and materials quickly when tools or processes change. 
  • Collaboration & teamwork with technical teams, sourcing leads, and process owners.
