Role Purpose
The Senior Consultant, Sourcing Professional Services & HR is responsible for leading strategic sourcing initiatives, commercial negotiations, and supplier management activities across a diverse portfolio of Professional Services categories, with a primary focus on HR Services and Consulting Services. This role partners closely with business stakeholders, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and Procurement teams to develop and execute sourcing strategies that drive cost optimization, service excellence, supplier innovation, and risk mitigation. The position manages complex sourcing engagements across categories including management consulting, strategy consulting, technology consulting, contingent workforce, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), executive search, learning and development, employee benefits, and other HR-related services. Leveraging deep category expertise, market intelligence, and strong stakeholder management capabilities, the Senior Consultant serves as a trusted advisor who delivers measurable business value while ensuring supplier performance, contractual compliance, and alignment with enterprise objectives.
Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end strategic sourcing initiatives across a broad portfolio of Professional Services categories, with a primary focus on HR Services, consulting, contingent workforce, talent acquisition, and other knowledge-based services.
- Develop and execute category strategies that optimize cost, quality, service delivery, supplier performance, and risk management while supporting business and workforce objectives.
- Partner closely with Human Resources, business leaders, Finance, Legal, Risk, and Procurement stakeholders to identify sourcing opportunities and deliver value-driven procurement solutions.
- Manage complex sourcing events including RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, supplier evaluations, competitive bidding processes, and commercial negotiations across Professional Services and HR Services categories.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing structures, service level agreements, and commercial terms to achieve favorable business outcomes while ensuring appropriate contractual protections.
- Provide category expertise and market intelligence across Consulting Services, Recruitment Process Outsourcing (RPO), Executive Search, Learning & Development, Employee Benefits, Wellness Programs, Managed Service Providers (MSP), and contingent workforce solutions.
- Establish and maintain strategic supplier relationships, performance reviews, scorecard management, and continuous improvement initiatives to drive supplier accountability and innovation.
- Analyze spend, market trends, supplier capabilities, and benchmarking data to identify savings opportunities, improve sourcing effectiveness, and support category planning activities.
- Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies, regulatory requirements, risk management standards, and contractual obligations while serving as a trusted advisor on Professional Services and HR Services sourcing best practices.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Human Resources, Finance, Data Analytics or a related field; advanced degree and/or professional procurement certification (e.g., CPSM, CIPS, ISM) preferred.
- Minimum 4 years of strategic sourcing, procurement, or category management experience with significant responsibility for Professional Services spend categories.
- Demonstrated expertise sourcing and negotiating across a broad range of Professional Services categories, including management consulting, strategy consulting, technology consulting, legal services, and other knowledge-based services.
- Strong experience managing HR Services sourcing engagements, including contingent workforce, recruitment process outsourcing (RPO), executive search, learning and development, employee benefits, wellness programs, and managed service provider (MSP) solutions.
- Proven track record leading complex RFx processes, supplier evaluations, commercial negotiations, contract development, and supplier selection initiatives resulting in measurable business value.
- Strong understanding of supplier relationship management, performance measurement, service level agreements (SLAs), governance frameworks, and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Advanced analytical, financial, and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret spend data, market intelligence, supplier cost structures, and commercial models to support strategic sourcing decisions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and influencing skills, with demonstrated success partnering with senior business leaders, Human Resources, Finance, Legal, and Procurement organizations in a global environment.
- Strong knowledge of procurement best practices, contract management, risk mitigation, regulatory compliance, and market trends across Professional Services and HR Services categories, with the ability to serve as a trusted advisor to internal stakeholders.
